Choose 30 amp or 50 amp from the system—not from future plans alone

A 50A inlet can support a higher connection rating than a 30A inlet, but the usable power is still limited by the generator, its receptacle and breaker, the transfer equipment, wiring, and connected loads. A larger inlet does not increase generator output.
