Cooling tons do not identify the generator requirement

A three-ton label describes nominal cooling capacity. It does not reveal compressor design, supply voltage, fan load, power factor, locked-rotor current, inverter controls, staging, low-ambient accessories, or the condition of the equipment. Model the start event with the loads that are already running

The generator must carry the loads operating before the thermostat calls for cooling, then hold acceptable voltage and frequency while the compressor starts.
